I wanted to let you know that it was a thrill to perform for you and meet you and the gang at The Super Market. I have visited your websites and I am impressed with your down to earth approach and criteria in your search for new bands. I am looking for feedback on my first EP called “Make It Real” that I gave to you and to Mark as well. It is urban dance pop styles and I think that we have found a strong style that is unique. We are working with a number of new artists and trying to develop them to the point of being able to compete on a worldwide level. And that means, hard work. For all. Commitment is between two people who love and respect one another to decide how to honor that commitment. Statistically, over half of marriages end in divorce! Why make a commitment to vows that you are unable to keep? We are all human and therefore prone to error. Women are just as bad as men to stray. Marriage is a way to treat people as property. People are born with free will and should be allowed to express themselves as they choose. On a personal note, I am a pre-op trans guy and do not have the right to marry as of now. I am thankful that I do not have this right! Right now, I am viewed as a lesbian and lesbians are notorious for wanting to move too fast in a relationship. You have probably heard the joke (which is actually true)-what does a lesbian bring to the second date? A Uhaul! Talk about pressure! When Gene finds himself with a week of nothing to do, the family gets a sense of what it would be like if he didn't work so much, and hatches a plan to show him their appreciation. Fernandez    Thurs, July 30th, 2009 WonderStar Prods. is moving into production on the indie film "The Christmas Story," written and directed by Dan Gordon. GENE SIMMONS, CYBILL SHEPARD, ELLIOT GOULD and others, make up the ensemble cast in the story of a pregnant teenager who runs away from her upscale life and ends up struggling in a trailer park in New Mexico. WonderStar's Kim Waltrip is producing, and Jim Casey is executive producing. The ICM-repped Gordon wrote or co-wrote the screenplays for "Murder in the First," "Wyatt Earp," "The Hurricane" and "Passenger 57." He has "Mafia Cop" in development at Universal. July 29th- NICK SIMMONS COMIC READY FOR THE WORLD Nick Simmons says he tried to create a world where values are reversed in his new comic series Incarnate. Radical Publishing is shipping Incarnate on August 4, but fans had an early chance to see it at San Diego Comic-Con International. The comic was created, written and penciled by Simmons, son of rock legend Gene Simmons, and star of A&E’s Gene Simmons Family Jewels. The three-issue miniseries will feature a brand new 52-page format and $4.99 price point that will be used in future Radical titles such as FVZA: Federal Vampire and Zombie Agency from David Hine (Civil War: X-Men, Spider-Man Noir) and The Last Days of American Crime from Rick Remender (Punisher, Fear Agent). CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL STORY! July 27th- This week's been hectic. I say that often enough, but it's been hectic nonetheless. KISS finished this leg of the CANADIAN shows on July 21st. These have been the biggest shows we've ever played in Canada. Quebec City was 90,000 fans, for example. KISS is bigger than it's ever been!!! Check out KISSONLINE.COM for more. The band went home. I stayed in Toronto on July 22nd to go see some new bands for my SIMMONS RECORDS label, with Universal Music Canada and Belinda Stronach. We have yet to announce our first signing, though we are developing material with a few bands we like, and are planning to sign...soon. We like Hey Ocean.... we like THE ENVY... we love CYZON, but she's difficult. On the other hand, she's got the goods, the talent, and the charisma. The night's doings finished at about 2 AM, and I went back to hotel to catch a few... and got up at 6 am to catch a flight from Toronto to Denver. Then changed jets, and flew directly to San Diego and COMICON. NICK, my good lookin', talented offspring, was debuting his self written/drawn graphic novel = INCARNATE for Radical Publishing. Our GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS crew was there to catch the madness. Three days at Comicon, surrounded by a quarter of a million (!!!) comic book fans.... columinating at the Radical Hard Rock Party to promote Nick's INCARNATE book. FLASH!!!! The first printing of the debut graphic novel (1 of 3) is completely sold out!!! In advance!!! Nick is already done with issue two, but issue 1 is yet to hit the stands (Aug). The Radical Hard Rock Party featured Nick and some of his "Friends" (myself, Eric Singer, Tommy Thayer and Teddy Zig Zag on keys) playing 4 toons together. Two of 'em were written by Nick. We also did a blues cover and Hound Dog by Leiber and Stoller (Elvis). Then Tommy, Eric and myself played a few toons as a trio. Carrot Top got up and told some jokes to the drunken, rowdy crowd. And then Nick and the band got up and jammed on a blues song made up on the spot. The next day, I had some more shooting for our tv show, and finally made it back to LA about 1 am. Got up this morning, went to the studio for a KISS Media Day of playing the toons to various print and tv media... Webmistress Kristy showed up to pick up some material I had to FedEx to people, who will be promoting my next project -- a Speaking Engagement Tour....probably happening in the Spring. Then tonight, right afterwards (7 pm) went to shoot a movie for DAN (Wyatt Earp) GORDON... Dan couldn't have been nicer, and he helped me get through it, without passing out. I just got back from the shoot. It's the middle of the night... sun's coming up shortly, and my eyes are shutting down. Oh yeah, tomorrow KISS plays Paso Robles... No rest for the wicked. Meantime, Soph and Miss Tweed are running around in Canada, and enjoying some hard earned vacation time. Soph is working at an animal shelter, and Shannon Tweed is buying Canada. Soph has been offered a movie and TV roles these last few weeks. She has said no. And me? I just work here. New letters posted... Hi there, here in Holland we got festival called 'Black Cross' a festival with music and motorcross racing, today some pictures of the festival were uploaded online, with a motorcross racer in Demon costume! July 22nd- ROCK 'N ROLL UP NORTH By NP Editor    Tues, July 21st, 2009 Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed. Mr. Tongue and his Excess Bride. Boy, have they been taking Canada by storm! Here, there and every-lair. I mean, has there been a royal tour quite like this since that one channelled by Chuck and Di back in 1983? So, when Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed weren’t ringing in the Toronto Stock Exchange last week (the TSX made record gains, spectator-wise) or taking a personal tour of Parliament Hill in Ottawa (they oohed and aaahed about the library) or flying rock star-style to Halifax from Toronto (“Life on the road. Getting fat,” tweeted Shannon some time later), the guy who used to date Cher (remember that?) and the chick who used to play with Hugh Hefner (who could forget?) made an announcement to the country about their kids. Nick and Sophie, they said, are going to become Canadians! The Family Jewels couple, in other words, filed citizenship papers for their son and daughter, 20 and 17, respectively. This was taken in the lobby of the Broadwater Beach Hotel in my home town of Biloxi, MS. My two friends and I (I'm in the white) skipped school that day and drove up and down the coast looking for you guys. We stumbled across you guys eating lunch in the dining room and waited for you all to finish before we bothered you. Paul, Vinnie and Eric signed for us, but weren't very talkative. You on the other hand, visited with us for about 15 minutes and were more than happy to take this pic when we asked. KISS was such a huge part of my younger years. Over the years, I've seen almost every lineup the band has had. Now I enjoy watching Family Jewels with my children. Thank you for being a part of my KISStory. Paul W. LETTERS... July 18th- GENE SIMMONS & SHANNON TWEED RING IN THE TORONTO STOCK EXCHANGE Gene Simmons, co-founder of the rock band, KISS and star of the reality show "Gene Simmons Family Jewels", along with his life-mate Shannon Tweed, opened the TSX market today. The reporter for the news story commented on the fact that he has never seen so many people trying to peek into the TSX building to catch a glimpse of a celebrity ringing the opening bell. GENE SIMMONS & WILLIAM SHATNER Recently, had the privilege of being on William Shatner's show. We spent about an hour talking and joking. Here we are before the taping, hanging out. July 17th- INCARNATE #1 This is a gory comic book symphony of violence, action, and horror; imagine the result of an unholy three-way between Takashi Miike, Walter Hill, and Jack Kirby. Nick Simmons seems to have an entire twisted universe mapped out here and takes his sweet time doling out the goodness in delicious bloody spoonfulls. His American manga art style is an out of the ordinary, but fitting way of telling this uncanny story. INCARNATE is not your typical horror story, blending action and cool in even helpings. The thrilling first issue has me all edge-of-my-seaty, and begging for more. - Bug 90,000 KISS FANS ROCK QUEBEC CITY!!! July 7th- NICK SIMMONS TO SIGN AT COMICON JULY 23RD-25TH David Pepose    Tues, July 7th, 2009 Radical Publishing has announced that Incarnate writer Nick Simmons, along with his father KISS frontman Gene Simmons, will be signing copies of the new book at the Radical booth at the San Diego Comic Con. In addition to hanging out at the booth from June 23-25, Nick will be attending Radical’s Creators Panel at noon on Friday, while Gene will have a jam session at the Radical Event at the Hard Rock at an as-yet-unannounced time over the weekend. “Nick’s work on Incarnate has been nothing less than incredible and we’re excited to premiere it at this year’s Comic-Con International.” said Radical President and Publisher Barry Levine. “Here at Radical, we pride ourselves on fostering creativity, talent and quality – and the Simmons family has that in spades. July 5th- DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ A word of advice Re: the INTERNET: Don't believe everything you read. Recently, more than a few fake Gene Simmons sites have reported on my activities: Mostly, they are false. And needless to say, so are the fake Gene Simmons'. Additionally, there have been stories about me posted on Facebook and Twitter that are likewise false. Nor have I been in places that have reported seeing me. And some of the fotos purported to be me, are not (check out our letter page for one of 'em)... There have been bars that have reported seeing me drunk. I don't drink, have never been drunk in my life and usually don't go to bars -- unless I'm there to see a band. There have been concerts I've supposedly attended -- difficult to do when I'm at the other end of the country. And, a host of other crazy stories, including children I've supposedly sired. When our legal team offers to take DNA tests and informs these people that we would take full legal action for any frivolous claims, defamation of character and slander -- translation, we will sue you to the grave and beyond, Surprise!!! They disappear. In short, unless you hear it from me, it ain't so. July 4th- HAPPY 4TH OF JULY A salute of the highest honor to our Men and Women in Uniform all over the world. Freedom's not free. Dear Gene, I just can't believe the shock I received tonight. my cell phone rings and from out of nowhere I was receiving a phone call from who i would like to call "the official god of rock n roll" himself, one mr. gene simmons! The unfortunate thing I never did have the pleasure of speaking to you, I have a new phone that quite frankly i'm not quite used to yet, but i did receive your voicemail (more on that in a moment) and quite frankly its something that i will remember the rest of my life. I think it is so cool out of millions of email, snail mail, and such you receive in a day you paid special attention to ones that my wife angela and a buddy of mine had sent to you about my stage three c colon cancer, and how it would mean alot to hear words of encouragement from icon gene simmons. I must say hearing that voicemail you boosted my spirits to a level that is undescribable. Kiss has and always will be a big part of my life, you guys have been there through all the milestones in my life. You especially have always been my rock n roll idol, a person i have always respected through every word you say. You ironically through twists of fates here and there have been a person that i have never had the pleasure of meeting. July 1st- NICK SIMMONS CREATES COMIC BOOK Dan Ruble    Wed, July 1st, 2009 Nick Simmons, that polite, down-to-earth son of KISS bassist Gene Simmons, is about to try his hand at comics. Coming out in August 2009, Radical Comics will release Incarnate #1, the first in a 3-issue mini-series, each in a deluxe 52-page format. Created, written and drawn by Nick, Incarnate revolves around a race of beings called Revenants - sounding sort of like a vampire/zombie hybrid, they are immortal and feed on the flesh of humans. The hero - or anti-hero, as the case may be - is Mot, who privately seeks his own demise, and with a secret society called the Sanctum suddenly picking off Revenants left and right, Mot may just get his wish. Nick's progenitor Gene Simmons has often proudly proclaimed his love of the comics medium, and has been featured as a comic character in several KISS titles. Some fans may recall that Gene, and the rest of the band, donated blood into the red ink for their Marvel Comics Super Special in 1977. Anyone else wonder if Nick's DNA will be gracing the pages of Incarnate? Incarnate #1 from Radical Comics will be in stores August, but fans can get an advance copy at this year's San Diego Comic-Con where Nick will be appearing for signings. Perhaps in blood!
