More of Gene Simmons Family Jewels, ASAP, please! I'm in serious withdrawal, and I want to see how one of the country's functional families is doing.
Dr. Craig Merrell
Response from Gene:
Thanks.
Yes, indeed.
Season 5 of GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS is currently being filmed -- on the road (when I'm not playing concerts with KISS) and during off days... Look for us in the Spring.

Does arrogance exist in other people? Have you ever met such a person in your many years? If so, they probably feel they are entitled to be that way just as you often appear to. I guess what I'm asking is do you have any personal experience with arrogant/cocky/narcissistic people and are they people you tend to gravitate towards or avoid?
finding this prompted me to ask the above
"Pride is, depending on the context, either a high sense of the worth of one's self or one's own or a pleasure taken in the contemplation of these things. Social psychologists identify it as linked to a signal of high social status. One definition of pride in the first sense comes from St. Augustine: "the love of one's own excellence." In this sense, the opposite of pride is humility.
Pride is sometimes viewed as excessive or as a vice, sometimes as proper or as a virtue. While some philosophies such as Aristotle consider pride a profound virtue, most world religions consider it a sin."
My assumption is you agree with Aristotle
I do.
Arrogance infuriates me, only if it's untrue, or unearned.
If you state facts about yourself, they are either true or untrue.
Pride in my own self accomplishments? You bet.
But, if I were born into riches and told other people I was rich, I would find that arrogant and insulting.
If I earned every penny of what I have, by working for it.... and never borrowing a penny from anyone... never winning a lottery... then yes, I am proud of my achievements.

Dear Gene,
I have been a KISS fan since I was 12, I'm now 17, and my parents are KISS fans as well. I have listened to the music, watched your show, payed careful attention to how you approach business and have been absolutely awe struck on multiple occasions. What you do in life and in business is such an inspiration to many people. Many things that you say have given me the inspiration to be more ambitious in my life, and it has changed me for the better. I just wanted to say thank you so much, you are a true inspiration for anyone that wants to do anything with their life.
Sydney Stacy

Hello Mr. Simmons,
I don't have a question.
I just want to tell you that your book "Sex, Money, Kiss" has enriched my life!
THANK YOU!!!
Best regards,
Philipp Schlachter

Gene,
I don’t know if you have ever consider doing a duet song with anyone but I would like you to consider doing one with Garth Brooks since he is slowly coming back from retirement. Garth Brooks has stated in the past that he listened to KISS when he was growing up even though he sings country now. I think that your two voices would be great together. Maybe you both can write a song together. Love Family Jewels and if you ever decide to do a duet with him I would love to be there when you record.
Take care and have fun on your tour.
Lois Fiore
Response from Gene:
Garth Brooks recorded "Hard Luck Woman" with KISS for the KISS Tribute Album "KISS My Ass" years ago.

Here's a story that was forwarded to me.
I thought I'd post it as an example of how often people make up stories, and create many intricate details. None of this is true. I have no idea who this woman is, and the following, is the real story of Christine Sixteen.
If you've read interviews I've given at the time the song came out (1977), you'll read more specific details. But, in brief:
Paul Stanley and I were talking on the jet that was returning to America from our Japanese tour. On the plane, Paul said I only wrote monster lyrics like GOD OF THUNDER (and he went off to write that song) and I countered that he only wrote teen lyrics like CHRISTINE SIXTEEN (and I actually started writing the lyric on the plane). I finished the song within a week of arriving in LA, and I called EDDIE AND ALEX VAN HALEN and immediately demo-ed the song with them on drums and guitars at Village Recorders in LA.
Who this woman is, or what she's trying to do, is beyond me.
But, not a single word of this is true.
“Christine Sixteen” Now 48-Years Old,
Gene Simmons No Longer Interested
According to Christine Goblick, of Venice Beach, California, the song sung by rock band, Kiss, “Christine Sixteen,” was written about her after bass player, Gene Simmons, developed a crush for her back in 1977, the year of the song’s release. Goblick insists no relations took place between her and Simmons because of her age but there were plans for the two to “hook up” a year later, when she was legally available to Simmons.
“We had plans to meet for dinner on my seventeenth birthday, when I would’ve been of legal age to have a relationship with an older man,” explained Goblick. “But Gene was a ‘no show.’ He sent flowers though, with a card reading, ‘Maybe next year, Toots.’ But he never showed up then either.”
Since then, Goblick has been appearing at the same restaurant, Grandioso’s Italian Cuisine, on Vine Street in Hollywood, for every one of her birthdays, hoping Simmons will one day show up for their planned romance. Goblick, now 48-years old, says she has never been with another man ever since she first met Simmons, claiming she is saving herself for what she has been hoping would be “the night of her life.”
“It’s been a dream for so long, it has to happen one of these days,” she continued. “He’s the only man I’ve ever even thought about. I’ll keep coming until I’m dead in the ground. I know he’ll show up. I just know it.”
When reached by this reporter for comment, Simmons insisted he lost interest in Goblick the day she became of legal age and moved on quickly to other girls more readily available.
“I’m a rock star,” he said. “I can’t wait for no chic-a-dee to grow up. I’ve got business to take care off. And if she thinks I’m going to show her some loving now, when she’s already turned into an old cow, she can forget it. I’m still hitting that young stuff and loving it. That’s my deal.”
Still, Goblick, who turns 49 this January, still plans on appearing at Grandioso’s, expecting Simmons to do the same. And just in case, he doesn’t expect her to be as attractive as she once was, more plastic surgery on her already practiced face and breasts are planned around holiday time.
“This is L.A. Once has to stay young or you’re not considered worth anything. I have to keep my looks up or Gene will never show. Or he’ll show and then turn around and leave. I can’t take that chance. I’m having my entire face pulled back three more inches and my breasts are going to be twice as large. Sure, I’ll probably get offers from other men at the restaurant. And I’ll find that flattering. But I’m doing it all for Gene. After all, he wrote that song just for me.”

HEY GENE!
No Question just a lil story about a Halloween encounter last weekend. I've been a long time fan ever since I was a kid watching my Aunt dance to the vinyl spinning on the turn table in her bedroom and I was almost floored when I was passing out candy when this little girl, who appeared to be maybe 9 years hold, started running and screaming oh my god from down the road passing up all the other houses until she flew up my stairs and bear hugged me with her head directly buried in my cod piece. I was literally frightened at first until she let go and backed up and it was then I seen the look in her eye and knew you continue to rock the new generation of fans!
ROCK ON GENE!
Matthew

Do you believe we have "souls"? If not in a supernatural sense at least by practice, our own perceptions. I know what science says but do you view yourself, your children, your mother, me as just an animal or one step beyond such?
I have no agenda here, just doing the whole "what does it all mean" thing.
Wes
Response from Gene:
No.
Sorry. I do not.
Wish I did.
I believe all that we are, all that we will ever be, and the only chance we have is this chance (one life... one time...) to do the best we can, and lead the good life.
I don't believe in ghosts, numerology, spirits, crying bloody statues, possession, astrology, voodoo and any number of other human superstitions. Though, I think it's fine if you do.
