Mr. Simmons, and Ms. Sophie,

I just recently watched your episode of Family jewels of where Sophie wanted to write a paper about life in the military, I commend you and Sophie for what message you put out there and the message you sent to all those who have never put on a uniform, what its like to appreciate what we have as Americans. I am a 20 yr Retired US Marine, served both in Desert Storm and In Iraq, I was wounded in both wars, and just wanted to say thanks to you for the nice story you did last year on your show. Its nice when you make those who gave a reason to cry. again thanks

Semper Fidelis

Ret. Gunnery Seargent Hale USMC

Response from Gene:

All of my respect to you, Sir.

Gene,

In response to your statement "I've always liked the non-judgmental, innocence of little kids. And, for some reason, they always connect with the Demon", let me offer that there is definitely something about the Demon that appeals to children, even more so than the other members of the band.

I've been doing my best Gene Simmons impersonation at Halloween parties and KISS Conventions for ten years now, and the reaction from children has always been one of fascination…at first they're slightly afraid, but then when you get down to their level they warm to you and become really intrigued.

Thank you so much for creating a persona that offers something to everyone, and is recognized, loved, and respected all over the world!

Sincerely,
Chris Uschak

DEAR SIR

I HAVE A GREAT HIGH END PRODUCT THAT IS A TURN ON FOR WEALTHY FOLKS AND BABY BOOMER'S. I WOULD LOVE TO SHOW AND TELL YOU MORE AND GET YOUR OPTION . I PROMISE NOT TO WASTE YOUR TIME . PLEASE RESPOND, THANKS PETER PS : KISS FAN FROM THE WARM UP BAND DAYS KEEP ON ROCK EN PEACE TO ALL

Response from Gene:

The first question anyone, including me has is: "What's my payday. Not later. Now."  You have a high end product. Fine. But you need distribution, funding and so on. Get a bank loan, or borrow from friends and family. Fund it yourself and make prototypes. Approach distribution companies. And only if and when you have more going for you, will anyone/including myself take this seriously. And even then, the chances (as we all know) of anything succeeding is minimal. But, that's true of all things.

Good evening,

I watched your television show this evening and I wanted to say thank you. My first reason for thanking you is that I love your show, and I have to tell you that your family seems honest, thoughtful and loving of each other and the world around them. This is a very important aspect to me because I feel that the world is becoming very "not personnel" and people are not realizing the impact they make on each other and our society. For the first time in her life, my 7 year old daughter is allowed to watch a "reality" show and she thinks it is great; she thinks your families interactions with each other are great.

The second reason I feel compelled to write you is that we are a military family. My husband has served 19 years in the Air Force and I served 14. In the world we live in people in the civilian sector tend too views us in two lights: 1) the hero or 2) the killer.  I understand where these different folks are coming from, they have opinions and that is what we are fighting for; freedom of opinions and every-ones right to express them. I am not sure if people really see our world when they see our uniforms.  My grandfather used to say that in order to truly understand a person you have to walk a mile in their shoes. I believe you and your daughter walked those miles and can truly understand were our shoes are taking us. The greatest part of that experience is that you were able to televise to the viewers what our walk is like. I am sure you have many viewers that saw the same episode and can for just a glimpse of their lives; just a fruit flies existence on this earth, take a second and see what we are trying to do. For that I truly appreciate you and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

To be honest your program also helped me. Sometimes we forget that we are here. What I mean by that is we become content in our daily lives and forget that OUR actions play a role in this world. It was nice to have such a friendly, heartfelt reminder.

Take care of yourself, and your beautiful family. My husband would tell me that I should end this e-mail without being sappy, so here goes:

ROCK ON (I think that is how he puts it)

Smiles and hugs, christine maggard

Gene,

I found it interesting that on American Idol tonight the theme was songs from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They were talking about all the elite bands who were chosen specifically to be honored in their hallowed halls. It was ironic that as they were showcasing all these great artists, the music bed the show’s producers chose was Rock and Roll All Nite by the one band that has been continuously SNUBBED by the hall of fame.

Don’t you find that to be a bit of poetic justice?

Jim

Response from Gene:

Oh, it's ok. Our fans number in the millions. We're doing just fine. Thanks, just the same.

Gene Simmons,

I would like to say thank you for the episode you did on the Marines and Camp Pendleton on A&E. As a former enlisted member in the USAF, it meant a lot to me to see a well known celebrity out there going through boot camp and getting a taste of what men and women have been doing for countless years. Also, I would like to say thank you for taking the time to visit the VA hospital and spending time with our veterans that have paid the price for the country. It is not often these days that I witness a member of main stream Hollywood take the time to visit our men and women of our military and actually understand what they do and why they do it. I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart, and as I proceed through Reserved Officer Training Corps at my college, I can rest assured that we have people, such as yourself, watching our back. Please keep doing what you do best, and me and my fellow warriors will keep doing what we do. Thanks again for just taking the time to recognize the members of all the branches, it means a lot.

HI GENE

THOUGHT YOU MIGHT LIKE TO SEE MY LATEST KISS TATTOO (I HAVE 3).
I AM A HUGH KISS FAN, HAVE BEEN SINCE THE 70'S. I HOPE YOU GUYS TOUR THE USA THIS YEAR...I NEED MY KISS FIX...ANY PLANS FOR A NEW KISS CD?

 THANK YOU

                                                                  CHRIS

Mr. Simmons,

I preface my letter that I am not a father, business man, Rock Legend or even someone of notoriety and if in a pinch, I could not name a single song Kiss is known for. So we probably have limited commonality.

By accident, I recently viewed a segment of your television show depicting you and your daughters’ interaction with retired and active U.S. service personnel.

It came across as one of the most genuine personal efforts to honor our service men and women that I have been seen. Your stature as a celebrity seemed absent with the exception of the audience enjoying your performance as someone they may never encounter in their life.

With the drama of pop celebrity BS as the news of the day, your humility and respect for the life you have been able to develop offers some solace to me that not all celebrities are shallow, but real people that happened to have been blessed with talent and skills most of us only wish.

As a man of some responsibility to personnel and shareholders and my community, I hope that my actions can emulate such a profound example of human kindness from such an unexpected source.

Please find a way that your show can continue to provide the younger populous with such a solid role model, as politicians, clergy and community leaders have failed to emulate the simple truths that I believe are represented by you efforts.

With greatest respect,

Bruce Bridgewater

I'm watching American Idol tonight and they are doing songs from the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame". The funny part is, they played a KISS song while they were showing the history of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. What is it going to take to get you guys inducted ?

I also want to ask: I watch "Family Guy" and there have been some episodes with "KISS". The only character that sounds real is yours. Do you do the voice ?

I think you're awesome, Gene. Your family entertains me every week on "Family Jewels" and KISS entertains me whenever I play their music. Please come back to Vancouver, Washington soon. Your last visit was my first time seeing you and you were struggling with a virus when you were here. I would LOVE to see you in your 100% mode !!!

Response from Gene:

Yes. Family Guy was me.

Gene,

I just wanted to say that I just say the episode were you pay tribute to the military. That episode meant so much to me. My fiance is getting ready to go to Iraq for the next year. It means so much to see a super star such as you pay that kind of tribute to the military. I really wanted to tell you thank you so much for doing that.

Melissa
