Mr. Simmons,

I am a fan of your character, style, attitude, but less so of your music. You have done so much with so little. That in and of itself makes you a very talented businessman. As much as I respect your personna, I'm struggling to reconcile your attitude towards marriage with your attitude towards money. I understand that you have never been "married" nor do you intend to get "married". I also understand that the more money you have, the better you feel. Here is where the contradiction sets in. Legally speaking, you are actually "married" without the use of the term. A long-term common law relationship is equivalent to a defacto marriage. Since your common law partner may be entitled to half of your assets in case of separation, wouldn't marriage actually be MORE beneficial to men such as yourself from a financial point of view? Marriage would enable you to sign a prenumpial agreement, thereby allowing you to protect more of your hard-earned assets? The only counter-argument would entail a valuation of your unpatented idea of "I've never been married" being worth more than the assets you would potentially lose without a prenuptial agreement.

You are a great inspiration for a Purim Party costume.

All the best to you my friend,

Danny Vaiman

Response from Gene:

Thank you for your thought provoking email, but you are slightly misinformed.

I believe in full disclosure before the fact. In business, in relationships, in life. And that means, I have always been clear from day 1 that I will never marry. I am also a firm believer in having individual counsel and drawing up (not a prenup, which is often useless) but a COHAB AGREEMENT. It supercedes and nullifies the law of the land, including common law. Translation, you can define for yourself what the financial (if any) or social rules are of your relationship -- or, in case of a split (and the statistics tell us you are probably going to split up), you have the choice of leaving it up to the State and the Laws of the Land....something I'm not willing to do. I stand by every word I said.

I represent a company that has an indoor growing technology that has perfected a system that grows fruits and vegetables. We can grow herbs, lettuce, spinach, strawberrys, and a variety of other products. 100%organic. We can grow 10 times the amount in the same space as conventional methods without sprays, bugs, or undesired pathogens common to outdoor growing methods, 24/7 365 days a year.

We have the ability to set up right in the middle of Manhattan (for example) and provide daily, fresh produce to local markets instead of being shipped from California saving shipping costs, as well as other environmental issues related to transporting products across the country.

Our company designs and builds highly efficient systems for growing organic fruits and vegetables in a controlled, indoor environment. Our revolutionary technology manipulates growing conditions to accelerate plant production and maximize crop yield. By using and controlling precise combination's of light, water, nutrition, gravity, centrifugal forces, and gasses, We create ideal growing conditions for commercially-desirable crops in compact, automated facilities. Our system will revolutionize the way that remote communities access fresh, organic produce; agricultural producers address land management issues; and hunger crises are alleviated for the world's growing population. Our goals are to promote the sustainable consumption of natural resources through clean technology, and to embody environmentally and socially-responsible business practices that provide good jobs and empower a diverse, community-based workforce.

We also have a pharmaceutical side to our company that will be producing a variety of plants and herbs that are directly related to curing cancer, leprosy, and other diseases.

We currently have a facility set up in Detroit to grow organic strawberry's exclusively for one of the biggest retail chains in North America.

As well we have received total funding for a facility in Massachusetts exclusively for pharmaceutical products.

The reason I'm contacting you is, you are a business man, and not only is there millions to be made, this technology will literally change agriculture as we know it.

If any of this interests you, please contact me. This is my web site.

Just so you know I'm not some clown, I own all of the houses on my site and live in the first one "Anmore".

p.s. I have been a fan of Kiss since I was 11, and the only reason I'm contacting you is because unlike most other rock stars, I think you are a businessman first and foremost.

regards,

Greg Schultz

Response from Gene:

Sounds terrific. But if you're looking for a financial investment, I'm the wrong guy. Companies hire me. Good luck with your venture.

Every once in a while someone will ask, "does Gene really read and respond to these letters?" I have never had any doubt that Gene is the person who writes the responses, until recently.

The response you gave regarding the musical notes in which you said, "you are right...." Gene Simmons would never admit he was wrong. You have done well but one little slip up and your cover is blown.

S. Gill

Response from Gene:

   You're right.

Dear Gene:

I am sure you get just about a million of these letters everyday. Yes I have grown up as a huge fan of KISS and you asTHE rock icon of our generation. More importantly however, I am a fan of Gene Simmons, the person and the businessman. My name is Tom "Tomcat" Cunningham, and I am writing to you in the hopes you not only receive this communication but take the time to hear and give serious consideration as to what I have in mind.

In one of your episodes of "Gene Simmons, Family Jewels" your son Nick made mention of a business, one that I think you may have missed and inadvertently overlooked as a business which, with your name and marketing power behind it could make TONS and TONS of $$. Gene, one thing I do know having followed your life is that you do like $$. I know this particular business like the back of my hand having been involved with it for the past 17 years.

If interested in what my business proposition entails, feel free to contact me. I would be more than happy to elaborate on what I have in mind and although separated by great distance with myself being in Ontario, Canada..it is always been one of my dreams to meet you personally someday.

I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely, Tom "Tomcat" Cunningham

P.S Please note I am an everyday, ordinary middle aged man and not one of those odd characters I have noted on occasion approaching you with some crazy idea on your reality show

Response from Gene:

Never send an email with the phrase "if you're interested...etc...contact me." They won't. And never guarantee anything. You can't. Because you're not qualified to guarantee it and if things don't turn out right (and they almost never do), you may be held accountable. I wish you well.

Dear Gene,

I'm a big KISS fan from Buenos Aires, Argentina. It's sort of a given that I already have my ticket for the show on April 5th, and also I'll be travelling with a friend to see you in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro as well. We are really excited and really looking forward to see you again!.

But the purpose of my letter is to ask you if you're going to bring the full KISS show that you are used to present in the US and that we saw on videos to South America?. Or is it going to be a smaller show in terms of stage, lights, equiments and fireworks?. Let me tell you that I travelled on the year 2000, to see the Farewell tour. I saw you on West Palm Beach and Fort Myers and those shows were AWESOME, in terms of everything I pointed out before, not to mention the music.

I just wanted to know if in Argentina a Brazil, we are going to see that kind of amazing show.

Thank you very much for your time, and hoping to see you pretty soon.I admire you very much.

Yours, Federico Szalai

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Response from Gene:

   The full show.

Ciao Gene,

recently I met Bruce who was kind enough to let me listen to his new songs for BK3 and among them of course "Is not gonna die" and "Hand of the King".You sang so great on that tune!!!! It reminds me of Revenge, and what a big album it was!!!

I wanted to tell you also that Nick is SO COOL!!!! He has your kind of voice but....well he so bluesy, I believe he'll have a huge success indeed!!!

Can't wait for the next KISS album and for ALTER EGO!!!!

Fabio
