A SOLDIER'S MOM

Dear Gene and Sophie,

I am the Mother of a soldier that is in Iraq right now, and I am also a Mother-in-law to a Marine that is stationed in North Carolina. On behalf of me and my family I want to Thank both of you for your visit and support of all our troups. It appears to me that (once again) our boys and girls that are over there fighting for us have been forgotten. The write ups in the paper are smaller as well as the talk on the streets. As a Mother I want all to know that my Son (and the others) are on my mind 24/7. I go through my daily tasks and appear to be fine on the outside when inside I am full of fear and am missing my son constantly!!!! When I do get the chance to talk to him I can hear how tired he is and I can feel the fear he must be feeling. I am angry with how it is all going but all I can do is just pray. I am soooo very proud of him and others like him. But anyway, again I want to Thank you both for taking time out of ya'lls life to do what you did.

Watched you this morning on CW news channel from Los Angeles and I was so moved by your patriotism. Not only do we love you, but we love watching "Family Jewels". THANK YOU for your honest scolding to Americans in regards to respecting our military. This is a great country thanks to the men and women who serve. When someone of your celebrity speaks, many listen. I will buy a BIG cup of coffee for the first military person I see in a coffee house thanks to your suggestion- Gail Darling - San Diego

This is not a question, I watched the episode on May 20th when Mr. Simmons and his Daughter Sofia visited the Veterans at the Hospital. I am presently in the Military with the United States Army on Active Duty. After seeing how Patriotic Mr. Simmons and his Daughter was and how emotional they were, just made me more proud to be an American. The show is outstanding, I love the show and his Family is terrific. I am a fan of KISS. But after seeing that episode just made me more of a FAN.

   Las Vegas was a hoot. Our camera crews followed us there for Miss Tweed's sister's wedding. Along the way, I stopped in to see CARROT TOP's show at Luxor and then things started to happen. You'll see.

   Rich Abramson and I just came back from Toronto, where we had two full days of business meetings re a new venture we are proud to be partners in. You can find the banner of said venture right up on top of this page.
   Question is, can you guess which of the new ventures it is.

Brian, as you said you are "..an attorney who doesn't practice in common law marriage". You are incorrect and misinformed. Common Laws are, in fact applicable in almost every state. Including California, where it is a Community Property state. Meaning, women get half (of his gross, pre-tax monies).
  A Co-Hab agreement does indeed protect both parties from the courts and the laws of the land (if each has had individual counsel).
  It's the only way to shelter monies in a relationship.

RIGHT AGAIN !!!!!!

There is a difference between common law marriage and community property. A state like Pennsylvania which no longer recognizes common law marriage as of 1/1/05, will still apply some community property after that date. A pre-nup is set up before the marriage, however you are still entering a legal marriage. In a court of law a judge, and jury can do whatever they want if your pre-nup is challenged, remember you're still in a marriage. This is why they're fought, community property. BUT, a cohabitation agreement is different. In this type of agreement it is clearly stated that there is no intention for marriage from this day forward until one, or both parties decide to end it, therefore it supersedes the courts and the law of the land. No marriage, no financial partnership.

AND......Gene has distinguished himself from the hoi polloi by obtaining professional advice, and being an avid reader. You have the right to educate yourself, and speak forth on things that are important to you.

   We all just got back from camping -- 3 days of hell. Not fond of Nature.
   Ants live in ant hills. Bears live in caves. People live in HOUSES....not in the woods. People aren't covered with fur and our bodies don't do well with cold, wet or windy climates. Our feet hurt if we even step on a little, sharp pebble. Mosquitos suck our blood, crickets won't shut up at night, so we can't sleep. And when they finally DO shut up, the birds start chirping at the crack of dawn.
   We had a large visitor -- an 8 ft bear....there was also a snake...and we drove up there in a truck. More on that later, when you finally see the episode on our GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS later in the season.
   AND, the cell phones don't work well in the woods. Couldn't make a G-damn dime. Now, THAT's torture.

   Yesterday, our GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS tv crew went up to the PLAYBOY MANSION to shoot a scene with the legendary HUGH HEFNER. Some of you may know Miss Tweed has graced the cover of Playboy more than once (come to think of it, I was on the cover as well), and was Playmate of the Year.

   We are having a ball with our new venture, headed by Kourosh Taj. Rich Abramson and I are involved in raising funding, branding and marketing. I'm the Chairman of the Board and Rich was former CEO.

   Our GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS are all down here at the KENTUCKY DERBY. The fine folks at the Derby invited me to be their Guest of Honor (whatever that is) and we took the opportunity to bring Miss SHANNON TWEED and her lovely sister TRACY TWEED...and we've been raising hell down here.
   We've been running around all over town. If you see us, come up and say hi.
