Hey Gene.

Recognize any of this?! I got the images from a Monster Magazine & Fanzine Collector's Guide.
Thought you like to see it. Do you have any of it still around? Stay Well.

AM Santos / Lisbon

Response from Gene:

Yes. These are FANZINES (fan-magazines) I published and edited when I was around 14 years old out of my mom's house. The content was sci-fi/comics -- reviews, articles and so on.
I published/edited a number of titles: COSMOS, COSMOSTILETTO (a merger with Stiletto fanzine), FAUN, TINDERBOX, ADVENTURE, MANTIS and a few others.

KISS has finished its first leg of the never-ending tour. Aerosmith was on the first leg. We will continue when we start back up again around April, when we go to Australia. We will continue touring through November. Hope to see you all.

And, for those of you who don't know, our KISS SYMPHONY pay per view, which celebrates KISS and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (all 70 pieces in full KISS warpaint) at Melbourne Stadium, is on the air for a few more weeks.

Check with your local cable outlet for times and dates.

The resulting DVD, I'm proud to say, is double platinum.

For specific up to the minute info about all things KISS, check out our official web site, KISSONLINE.COM.

Here's hoping all of you have a healthy and happy holiday season.

Huge thanks to Gene from UK fans for doing the surprise satellite link up on RI:SE this morning. For those that don't know, RI:SE is a UK breakfast show hosted by Iain Lee - a huge KISS fan. Iain has been trying to get KISS on the show for ages and today, on the 2nd last show ever, he was shocked by a surprise interview with Gene!

Amongst other things Gene talked about My Dad The Rockstar, a possible UK tour and his new solo album. He made Iain Lee's day which he really deserved seeing as he has been doing his best to promote KISS in the UK recently.

Thanks Gene!

Hi Gene:

For supporting our troops, that’s a commendable thing. All of America should do it – there was a quote from a leader in the early 1800’s that said something to the effect that “War is ugly, but it’s not the ugliest of things… the far more uglier thing is to not have the guts to fight for something to the death. Or, worse yet, to have to fight for someone who doesn’t have the same believe in freedom only to give you life for them.” Anyway, here is a good picture to post as a signal to all those Hollywood whiners…

The second picture is a very close friend of mine, Steve Adams, who is patrolling the streets of Baghdad as a Staff Sergeant.  Anytime that we think we have a “bad day at work”, just remember that your day probably did not include bullets whizzing by your head.  How’s that for perspective? The little boy standing to his right is the real reason that we are over there. For 30 years, Sodamn Insane has brainwashed generations into believing that we are the “great evil”. The only way to show them that we aren’t is to stop the cycle, but it won’t stop in this generation – maybe the next?

Happy Holidays, Gene! The best to your family!

Fan since I heard R-n-Roll All Nite on American Bandstand in 1975,

Thanks to all of you for attending the recent CHICAGO BOOK SIGNING. Thanks to the ETHEL M chocolate company for making up a limited batch of SEX MONEY KISS chocolates. The weather was miserable but all of you made me feel warm inside.

My cartoon show, MY DAD THE ROCK STAR is about to debut in England and six other European countries. I'll be doing a satellite tv interview to announce the show tomorrow. I'm proud to say our little show is starting to kick butt worldwide.

Am embarking on a huge CABLE TELEVISION PROJECT I'm not at liberty to discuss just yet. But, it promises to become a monster. More details soon.

I've been working on an animation project for years and it's about to come to fruition. In the next few weeks, we'll be announcing the details.

And, of course our KISS AEROSMITH segment of our tour is coming to close. We're proud of the tour...but we will continue....wait and see. Meantime, check out KISSONLINE.COM for all the latest KISS news.

Thanks to all of you for coming to my LOUISVILLE BOOK SIGNING. I stayed till the end, not because I had to, but because it's important to me. And thanks for inquiring about the remnants of my bronchial cough... It's fine. The doc told me the remainder was a dry, non-contagious cough that would go away in a few days.

See you all in the CHICAGO BOOK SIGNING in a few days.

Gene,

OOOHHH MYYY GOOODDD!!!!!!!! Excuse me for just a moment while I pick my jaw up from off the floor! I logged on this morning before getting into the shower to see what wonderful and exciting things were going on in the world of Gene Simmons. I could not believe my eyes while I read the RUDE comments from your SO CALLED fans. Pardon me but do these people NOT HAVE A LIFE???? You're sick. And they can't seem to get over themselves? I truly pitty those people.

Do you people not realize that Gene was paying his dues when most of you were still shitting in your diapers??!!!!!! I don't care what you say Gene, YOU OWE THEM NOTHING. Not anymore anyway. You're the one that worked your ass off as a band member AFTER your regular working day. You're the one that thought of the avenues the band should take. You're the one that has worked to keep KISS on top of it's game. And you're the one that IS STILL working day and night in different countries to continue to make your dreams come true.

Truly, I am stunned at what some people think they can say and get away with. It makes me wonder if people were like when John Lennon was shot. Did they say," Gee, that son of a bitch was supposed to be here to sign my album." Things happen people!! Get over it! It is the month of December....in case you don't get it..it's flu season.

Gene, I hope you get to feeling better soon because there are too many asses that need to be wiped and too many noses that need to be blown. Sorry, but people really bug me sometimes. I do hope you're feeling better.

Milky:)~

Hey Gene, just got back from Vinal Fever in Tampa. I was sorry to hear you had to cancel. I hope you are feeling better though. The show was great last night at the St. Pete Forum. Saw the West Palm show as well.  I hope you can reschedule the book signing for another date. There were a lot of disappointed people there. Anyway, I hope you guys return to the Tampa area soon.
Take care

Response from Gene:

To all the people in Tampa who where expecting the Book Signing to happen: I had to cancel. By mid-afternoon of the day, I almost collapsed, and was rushed back to the hotel, where I stayed in bed for two days trying to break my bronchitis and flu symptoms. You have my apologies.

Even though at the beginning of the day I wasn't feeling great, I thought I could make it through the signing. I was wrong.

We had a show in Jacksonville the following night and I had to get up on stage and put out. LENNY KRAVITZ was there to cheer us on. But honestly, when I got off the stage, I holed up in a local hotel for two days and never got out of bed. It's been a few days since then, and all the symptoms haven't gone as yet.

Again, my apologies to all of you who were expecting the Tampa Book Signing.

I am in Louisville for the show. And, tomorrow there is a Lousville Book Signing. I will be there. Still not feeling great. But, I will make it.
