Gene Simmons spent his Saturday night dining in Des Moines

A night out in Des Moines last Saturday featured a serving of Detroit Rock City.
Classic rock fans spotted famed KISS bassist and co-founding member Gene Simmons dining Saturday evening at 801 Chophouse, a downtown steakhouse.
A representative for Simmons said he visited Des Moines on business regarding his new beverage company, Moneybag Sodas. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer joined a party of six or so in one of the restaurant’s semi-private rooms, said Justin Amundson, a Chophouse manager.
Simmons launched the soda line — specializing in cane sugar cola, root beer and ginger ale — last month.
